The Beauty of Asia: Photo Shooting Tips

Photo Shooting Tips

What a waste if you travel to a beautiful country without taking photos. Photo shooting can be so easy. What you need is just a camera and some skills.

You can easily get a digital camera everywhere, and it is quite cheap nowadays. With a little bit more money, you can also get a DSLR which will give high quality images. However, it is a waste of money if you own a DSLR, don't have the skills.

Anyway, you just need to know the basic functions of your camera and some ideas to get a better picture. There are:
  1. Shuttle Speed
  2. Aperture
  3. ISO
  4. The direction of light
  5. Angle of shooting
Let's start with shuttle speed. The faster the shuttle speed, the shorter the time of receiving light. In other words, the brightness of the photo will be lower. However, high shuttle speed will allow the camera to capture fast moving object.

Next, we will discuss about the aperture. The aperture is an opening which light travels. If the aperture is wide, the photo will be brighter. Besides, wide aperture results in a clear image on the object you focus on, but blurred background. On the other hand, you will be able to capture an image which is clear either the object or the background by setting the camera to narrow aperture.

ISO will only alter the brightness of photos. Try to keep the ISO low, normally 100.  Low ISO produces high quality photos. If the photo is too dark, you have to increase the ISO.

The direction of sunlight must be taken into consideration during photo shooting. When you are taking a portrait, the camera shouldn't face the sunlight. The object will appear dark even if your camera on auto mode.

If you want to capture a great portrait, you have to mind the angle of shooting. You shouldn't simply take a photo without thinking. On the contrary, you must observe with your bare eyes which angle will you get the best image. After taking a photo, you should take a look at the photo. If you are unsatisfied with the photo, you should think what improvement can be done to that photo and try again.
